The redevelopment of Toronto's railway lands has almost been completely realized over the past several years, but a few key elements are left to be built before this burgeoning community can grow into a full-fledged neighbourhood. One of the last remaining blocks of developable land in the area, Block 31 is destined to be the site of a Toronto District School Board school, a Toronto Catholic District School Board school, with both tied into a new community centre.

Development for this block, visible at centre in the image above just below the label for Brunel Crt, is now one step closer to fruition, as the City of Toronto has issued an RFP (request for proposal) calling for qualified proponents for project management services to cover all aspects of development on Block 31 in the Railway Lands. The winning proponent of the RFP will work closely with ZAS Architects Inc, who were selected to design the development earlier this year. Occupancy approval from the Building Department is required to be achieved by June 30, 2018 as part of the agreement.

We will be keeping a close eye out for additional information as new details continue to emerge. In the meantime, you can join in the conversation by visiting the Block 31 Forum thread, or by leaving a comment in the space provided at the bottom of this page.
