There are many individual factors that make the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) an essential part of the textbook Toronto Summer, and one of the most important traditions associated with The Ex is the annual Canadian International Air Show, which returned this past weekend for its 65th season. Anyone who has spent time downtown over the past week likely heard the buzz of propellors, the roar of jets, and the sight of pedestrians craning their necks to the sky. Though the CNE and Air Show are now gone for another year, several photos of the spectacle continue to pop up on the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool, like today's Photo of the Day of a WWII-era twin-engined warplane, submitted by Freaktography.
