Several new residential developments are currently under construction in the Yonge-Eglinton area, and among these projects, the growth of KG Group's 299 Roehampton Avenue has been notably swift. We last looked at the project in mid-July, when construction of the 210-unit, 15-storey rental tower was on the ninth level. In the time since, the final residential floors are being built and with the mechanical penthouse soon to take shape, the tower will top off this autumn across the street from Northern Secondary School.

UrbanToronto Forum contributor Roundabout has been documenting construction of the building for several months now, and the images below, from earlier on in the construction process, help to illustrate the impressive speed at which this project has risen. The first image shows what was there to begin with in July 2013: two-storey townhomes.

By the end of August 2013, the townhomes were all but gone.

During September 2013 the foundations of the townhomes were being removed.

During October 2013, excavation of the site for the new apartment building was fully underway. The edge of the underground parking for the adjacent existing tower can be seen at the end of the excavation site.

In November 2013, the crane for the new building went up.

By January of this year, the foundations of the new building had been poured as had the columns and some walls for the parking garage.

By mid-April, the building had progressed on to its second floor.

Two months later in June, the building had risen to a height of six storeys, (with forms in to pour the seventh floor) and would continue to grow at a rapid pace over the summer.

Back to the present, cladding is now being applied to the exterior of the Kirkor Architects-designed development, and in the image below, we get a slightly closer look at the black window-wall and spandrel combination currently being installed along with two-storey precast concrete arches hugging the building's ground levels.
