Take a trip through Markham's burgeoning downtown and you will find a collection of active construction sites. Markham's future is a bright one, and the addition of residential density and commercial business space has already gone a long way in transforming this northeastern GTA suburb.

One of the largest private developments currently under way in Markham is Fontana, a four-building condominium community by H&W Development Corp., currently taking shape on Clegg Road, near Warden and Highway 7. Last month we took a look at Fontana's construction progress as the Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects-designed development continued to grow, and today we return for a look at the development's model suite for an example of what Fontana's condo units will look like once occupancy gets under way for the development and residents furnish and decorate their new homes.

Suites at Fontana feature a white stippled ceiling finish in all areas except the kitchen, laundry, storage and bathrooms, which instead feature a smooth white paint finish. In the living room, pictured above, we can see how the interior designers at In2ition Realty have chosen a black and white theme with accents of purple to furnish and decorate the model suite.

Kitchens at Fontana come with wooden kitchen cabinetry, stainless steel energy efficient appliances including a full depth fridge, chrome double sinks and several other storage features to maximize space like lazy susans. Kitchens also feature an incorporated dining area. At the model suite, a modern chrome and glass table provides comfortable seating for four, while In2ition Realty incorporates a shot of colour in the form of flowers and fruit.

The den in Fontana's model suite features white furniture and gold wallpaper, as well as other gold accents like the throw pillows.

In the image below, we get a look at the model suite's bedroom, which takes a more laid-back approach than the aesthetic seen in the den.

There is much more to see at Fontana, and we will return soon for a look at the development's scale model, also located in the presentation centre, for a sneak peek of what the completed development will look like.

In the meantime, additional information and renderings can be found in our Fontana dataBase file, linked below. Want to get involved in the discussion? Check out the associated Forum threads, or leave a comment in the space provided at the bottom of this page.
