This past weekend, Roundhouse Park in Downtown Toronto played host to the 22nd annual National Apprenticeship Competition (NAC), held by United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC). The event has been active since the early 1990s, started by UBC as a way to showcase the training and skills that the Brotherhood imparts in their trainees, and has continued to evolve ever since.

The United Brotherhood of Carpenters is one of North America’s largest building-trades unions, with over 130 years of experience and almost 500,000 members. Events like the NAC help to prepare workers for their futures in the trades in a competitive and fun setting, in addition to fostering community interest in the trades.
