With the cost of housing in the downtown core at near-record highs, first-time home buyers are looking to the east, west and north for better value in the housing market. VHL Developments Inc., known for their redevelopment of undervalued properties with savings passed on to the end user, is capitalizing on this demand with 2150 Condos, a new condominium development rising at Birchmount and Lawrence in Scarborough.

Construction is picking up speed on the first phase of 2150, a 19-storey tower designed by Master Building Inc. rising at the northern end of the redevelopment site. The two-storey podium is structurally complete and now seeing the installation of cladding, while the tower portion has risen five levels above the podium, to a height of seven storeys.

A 16-storey second phase, which will rise on the west side of the site with 203 condominium units, is currently in its marketing stages and a future third phase on the horizon. Construction on the first phase of 2150 is expected to conclude in mid-2015.
