Town home developments are becoming more and more popular within the GTA and the design of most tend to fall on the conservative side. Never afraid to stray outside architectural boundaries, Symmetry Developments have teamed up with Fortress Real Developments and Engine Developments to change the face of townhome design in Toronto with The Tree House, a new residential development coming to 2535 Gerrard Street East in Scarborough.

New renderings have recently been released for The Tree House, showing changes to the projects bold design by Winnipeg-based 5468796 Architecture. In the first rendering, visible above, The Tree House's form has changed significantly since initial renderings surfaced earlier this year. Comparing the above image with the previous design below, the changes in elevation and massing are evident.

While the new renderings represent ongoing design development yet to hit the market, the evolved design clearly retains the use of COR-TEN steel as the main aesthetic element.

We will be keeping an eye on The Tree House, and will be sure to return with updates on the development as more information becomes available.

Additional information as well as early concept renderings for the project can be found in The Tree House's dataBase file, linked below. Want to get involved in the discussion? Check out the associated Forum threads, or leave a comment in the space provided at the bottom of this page.
