Suburban subdivision homes have historically been cast from the same mould, with kilometres of similar if not identical looking streets the result. With homebuyers now taking more notice of architecture and neighbourhood design, a new development is reinventing the suburban subdivision with a mix of unique styles, tailored to the particular aesthetic sense of individual buyers. Upper West Side is a large subdivision coming to Bathurst and Major Mackenzie in Vaughan by developers Aspen Ridge HomesConservatory GroupCountryWide HomesRegal Crest Homes and Townwood Homes.

The range of architectural styles at play in this development does a lot to differentiate Upper West Side from more typical suburban subdivisions, known for their repetitive use of architectural features and exterior materials. In the video flythrough rendering included below, we get a better idea of how homes at the Upper West Side will provide variety in size, style and finishes.

This past weekend, the development hosted a VIP preview of the ten model homes currently located on-site. Designs for homes at Upper West Side come in modern and classic styles of architecture, like both of the offerings from Aspen Ridge Homes visible below.

In the image below we can see three distinct styles of house sitting side-by-side, a rarity in the suburban landscape, and something we would love to see more of in the GTA.

The weekend's sales event proved quite effective, with many of the available homes selling out within hours. While we know the sales success can be attributed in part to the sheer variety of designs and layouts available, other factors which include location and price have to be right too of course!

We will return in the near future for another look at Upper West Side as sales on the development continue. In the meantime, additional information can be found in our dataBase file, linked below.
