At the southern tip of the once heavily industrialized port area, Cherry Beach has always seemed relatively disconnected from the city, which has proved to be one of the main draws of the beach and surrounding park. Cherry Beach is a popular refuge for hikers, dog walkers and even swimmers looking to escape the concrete jungle without the hassle of driving for hours, and despite the area's industrial past and present, the water is actually pretty clean. Today's Photo of the Day comes to us from Empty Quarter, who submitted this beautiful long exposure shot of a full moon over Cherry Beach to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool.
