The Gardiner Expressway and downtown rail corridor both snake through the city centre, carrying tens of thousands of commuters in and out of Toronto every day. While these two pieces of transit infrastructure have been maligned for the barrier they place between the city and the lake, their visual impact on the city can better appreciated from high above - like in today's Photo of the Day, submitted to the UrbanToronto Flickr Pool by Empty Quarter.
