Construction continues at The Berwick and CityTowns by Andrin Homes and The Brown Group of Companies, a 17-storey, Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects-designed condominium and townhouse development, now topped off just southwest of Yonge and Eglinton.

The Berwick's tower portion is now largely sealed off from the elements by a combination of reflective glazing and dark matte black spandrel on the southern and eastern facades, with horizontal white bands accenting each floor on the northern and western facades.

Still awaiting cladding is the terraced upper section of the building. Residents of these units on The Berwick's uppermost four floors will enjoy these expansive outdoor spaces which follow the curve of the west facade.

Before construction began on The Berwick, the east side of Duplex Avenue between the Eglinton bus terminal and Berwick Avenue was occupied by low-rise single family homes. Since demolished, the low-rise character of the street is being maintained thanks to twenty townhomes, dubbed the CityTowns, lining the development's Duplex Avenue frontage

The concrete structure of the townhouse portion has been topped off and is now being fitted with metal frames, insulation, and windows, and in the coming months we will see the installation of the townhouse's brick exterior finish. In the image below, a worker can be seen sanding down concrete on a balcony located just below the transition point between townhouses/podium and the tower portion above.

With cladding now covering much of the tower's exterior, we await the building's balcony glazing and removal of the construction hoist, which will allow the completion of the look by filling in the gaps in cladding currently occupied by temporary metal safety fencing and temporary plywood barriers.
