The CN Tower still holds the title for the tallest structure in Canada as well as North America, and while it retains the crown of the continent's tallest, the CN Tower fails to meet the criteria required to be considered a building in the proper sense of the term. Canada's tallest building actually sits a few blocks to northeast of the CN Tower, in the heart of Toronto's Financial District. First Canadian Place towers 72 storeys above the King and Bay intersection, and has remained the tallest building in the country since construction was completed in 1975. In today's Photo of the Day, a skewed angle shows the 298-meter tower disappearing into a heavy blanket of spring fog.
