The Yonge and Eglinton area, for a few blocks around in every direction, is seeing a boom in construction these days. Just a couple years ago however, the only development under construction in the vicinity was The Berwick and CityTowns by Andrin Homes and The Brown Group of Companies. Work on the 17-storey, Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects-designed development reached a major milestone when the project topped off late last year, and in the time since, cladding installation has picked up speed and has now reached the halfway point of the tower.

The tower portion of the development is being clad in a combination of reflective glazing and dark spandrel on the southern and eastern facades, while the northern and western facades are predominantly glazed while featuring sleek reflective horizontal white bands which accent each floor.

The development also features twenty townhomes, marketed as CityTowns. The townhomes rise three storeys along the development's Duplex Avenue frontage, each of connected units topped with their own private terrace.

The townhomes, along with the first three storeys of the tower base's Berwick Avenue frontage, will be clad in a brick finish, while grey spandrel panels are already being applied around the windows.

The 205-unit development is slated to open for occupancy late in the year, but we will return beforehand for another updated look at the development's construction progress.
