For those who want contemporary style but prefer to live closer to nature, there have not been many choices in the Greater Toronto Area. There is an option now though, as suburban townhome living is getting a modern, urban-style twist with Aspen Ridge Homes' Kettle Lakes Club in Richmond Hill. The development is set to bring 200 townhouse units to the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Bethesda Sideroad, on Lake Wilcox in the Oak Ridges Moraine.
Kettle Lakes Club will put residents within steps of Sunset Beach and the Oak Ridges Community Centre, in addition to shopping, golf courses, entertainment and other amenities. Hillcrest Mall and the numerous retail shops along Yonge Street are easily accessible, as are Highways 400 and 404, GO Transit and York Region Transit.
Towns at Kettle Lakes Club range in size between 1,640 and 1,752 square feet with prices starting at $539,990, and for a better taste of the lifestyle being offered here, model suites have been set up at the project's presentation centre, offering potential homebuyers a first-hand look at what living in this community will be like. These two-storey, three-bedroom MOTO (or Modern Towns) blend urban style and amenities with an outdoorsy mentality well suited to the surrounding natural features of the Oak Ridges Moraine.
Each of the townhouse come standard with a main floor powder room, two bathrooms on the second level, a master bedroom with a sitting area and the option of either one or two walk-in closets. Aspen Ridge designed the exteriors of the townhouses to evoke the style of modern single family homes which have become a growing trend in downtown Toronto. Sabrina Albanese, a designer at The Brand Factory, decorated and furnished the suites' interiors to appeal to the wide variety of potential purchasers. “Most of the layouts are brand new and designed especially for this community,” said Albanese. “The units come with amazing features and finishes. Each model has a different combination of standards and upgrades, and they all show just how livable these floorplans are.”
