The Yonge and Eglinton area is set to see some major changes over the next several years, as residential developments and a massive transit upgrade continue. Just east of Yonge Street on Eglinton, Madison Homes' eponymous project, The Madison, has made its first push above grade and concrete is now rising for the development's podium. Forum member Roundabout stopped by the site last week for a look at the project's recent progress, and shared his shots in our Forum thread for the project.

Designed by Kirkor Architects, The Madison will consist of two residential towers rising to a total of 33 and 36 storeys from a shared 8-storey podium. The podium will house two double-height retail levels, including 16,000 square-feet of retail at ground level and a 40,000 square foot Loblaws grocery store on the second floor.

While concrete work on the ground floor is underway on the project's east side, the west side is still catching up, with work currently underway on the final underground level.

Slated for completion in 2015, The Madison will bring 644 condominiums units to the Yonge and Eglinton area.
