Eglinton Avenue is set to see some major intensification over the next several years as construction continues on the Eglinton-Crosstown LRT line. Various developments are capitalizing on the transit access that this massive infrastructure upgrade will bring to Eglinton, including Empire Communities' The HUB, a 16-storey, Richmond Architects-designed condominium development planned for Oakwood and Eglinton.

The HUB will bring 220 condominium units to the Eglinton West strip, including a collection of 7 two-bedroom-plus-den townhomes starting at 1,257 square-feet. Each of these two-storey suites will feature private balconies and nine-foot ceilings. Paul Golini Jr., Executive Vice-President of Empire Communities, had a message for potential purchasers; “We’re excited to release these beautiful townhomes, which can be a great starter home for a young couple, or for a family looking for a multileveled space. Location-wise, you have easy access to public transportation, major thoroughfares and some of the best shopping, eateries and services this city has to offer.”

The HUB will have plenty of amenities including a fully equipped exercise room complete with weight training equipment, cardio machines and a Yoga and Pilates area. There will also be a party room with a kitchen and a private dining area along with entertainment space equipped flat screen TV, a fireplace and lounge. For outdoor types, there will be a landscaped terrace complete with a barbecue, lounge seating and dining sections. Cyclists will appreciate the on-site bicycle repair space, while those with electric cars can take advantage of two charging stations. With Eglinton West Subway Station and the coming Oakwood Station on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT both steps from The HUB, residents of the development will have top notch transit accessibility.
