For today's Throwback Thursday feature we look at the corner of Wellington and Simcoe. Formerly the location of loading docks for the great mass of railway tracks to the south, the site had become a parking lot decades earlier when the rail yards moved to the suburbs. In 2007 this corner finally started to be a productive addition to the downtown core as construction began in earnest on what is today the RBC Centre (then to be called the RBC Dexia Centre).

And today.

In 2007 a condo boom was already underway in Toronto. Now an office tower boom started too, with Cadillac Fairview's RBC Centre leading the way.
