2013 was a pretty big year for construction in Toronto; in fact, it was probably the most impressive year of growth this city has ever seen. We, along with many of our Forum contributors, closely followed several major projects as they progressed throughout the year, and to wrap up this recently passed year we have compiled summaries of various projects’ progress in 2013. Today we are taking a look at Lindvest PropertiesB.streets Condos: a 9-storey Hariri Pontarini Architects-designed condominium on Bathurst Street, just south of Bloor.

Stepping back a full year, B.streets had its crane up, but was still slightly below grade level, hidden behind construction hoarding opposite Honest Ed's.

By February, concrete had begun to rise above street level on the project’s north side.

Skipping ahead to April, formwork was underway on the building’s second floor, and concrete was visible to the passerby on Bathurst Street.

As the weather began to warm up, construction followed suit and by early July the building had grown to six storeys in height, suddenly dominating this formerly forlorn stretch of Bathurst.

By the time August rolled around, work was underway on the ninth and final residential floor. Late August also marked the building's ceremonial topping-off, which gave us our first look inside the building.

By September, B.streets was officially topped-out and we got a better look at the project’s charcoal brick, while the coming white precast cladding for upper floors was still to come.

A look at the site in early November revealed significant progress on the building’s cladding, now sporting the precast, which had risen as high as B.streets' 7thfloor.

Forum contributors drum118 and yonderbean both visited the site in the last few days of the year, and their photos reveal a completed exterior, as well as a sign inviting potential residents to move in to one of the building’s 195 units this coming Spring!

Work isn't quite finished yet of course, and there is still a lot to show you still in 2014, especially on the laneway side!
