As our city grows and evolves to meet the needs of a 21st century lifestyle formerly quiet streets are being transformed into high density residential areas. Charles Street in the area of Yonge and Bloor is doing just that, with recently completed projects like Casa and BSN, plus current projects like Chaz and Casa II, and then there's the upcoming Casa III. Will all of this activity, this street located just south of one of the city's most important transit and cultural hubs is redefining itself.
Chaz Yorkville Condos is the latest highrise luxury tower to hit the nieghbourhood. It will join others like The Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences and The Uptown Residences, bringing high end units in the sky to this extremely desirable location. The excavation process on Chaz was completed some time ago, and now the crane has arrived to begin the ascent into the Yorkville skyline.
When this Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects designed tower is completed it will rise 47 storeys and bring new luxury units to the area. They range in size from an efficiently planned 400 ft² to a generous 2,400 ft². With interiors by locally renowned Cecconi Simone, Chaz will have no shortage of luxuriously appointed amenity spaces including billiards rooms, secluded lounge areas, an indoor/outdoor dining area with two sided fireplace and barebecues, while the standout is the 2-storey party room space over 30 storeys in the air with exceptional views of the city's core.
This venture by 45 Charles Ltd has still got quite a bit of construction to go before the 2014 completion target. We will keep you updated as the tower continues to rise and effect the growing Yorkville skyline.
