Toronto is a city made up of a wide variety of colourful and unique neighbourhoods, perhaps one of the most uniquely Toronto areas is the neighbourhood surrounding the intersection of Bloor and Bathurst. To the southwest is Mirvish Village, named after the late department store owner, impresario, and philanthropist Ed Mirvish, for whom the landmark Honest Ed's is also named. Rising right across Bathurst Street from Honest Ed's is one of Toronto's most acclaimed new condo projects, B.streets. This 9-storey condo project, now under construction, will bring 195 new residential units along with street level retail to this vibrant neighbourhood.

This week developer Lindvest Properties has sent us the details on the 2 storey loft style penthouses that will sit atop the the complex when the building is complete. Many of us moving from the suburbs into the city have had to say goodbye to a good deal of free space and things we might take for granted like sunlight and views on all sides of our homes. The Penthouses at B.streets seek to rememdy a few of these downtown shortcomings by including windows on both east and west facing walls that will feature both sunrise and sunset views. As well, generously sized balconies will facing both east and west so that we might enjoy our very few warm months to the fullest. The Loft Penthouse suites start with at least 1,000 sq. ft. of space and range in price from $649,900 to $900,900.

These top teir units aren't just big empty spaces though; all units will feature wide plank floors that stretch from one end of the living room to the other, as well high end panelled cabnetry in the kitchen to carefully hide your appliances. Bathrooms will feauture 'New York inspired' glass tiles with contrasting grout. These units will also feature the latest in modern fixtures as well as top of the line finishes throughout thanks to interior designer Cecconi Simone.

This Hariri Pontarini Architects designed building is not set to complete until next Spring, but in the meantime B.streets has a number of promotions going for its small number of remaining suites. A timely one: to take best advantage of the nearby Bloor Hot Docs Cinema, (a terrific recent Hariri Pontarini renovation!) B.streets is offering two 10 year memberships to the prestigious Hot Docs festival. Now that's a pretty great entry into the neighbourhood! Buyers who purchase now also get to skip maintenance fees for the first three years. Hmm… sounds pretty good!
