Evolution takes millennia. Maybe that was the idea when Averton Homes' (formerly known as Beaverbrook Homes) named their condominium at Dundas near Kipling Avenue in Etobicoke. It has been a long haul for those who bought in the Evolution project (some as early as 2008), as evidenced in the UrbanToronto threads dedicated to the project, but the building is picking up the pace now.

The 14-storey building was designed by Arsenault Architect. The installation of glazing is marching up the facade, having reached the ninth floor. The base is currently being clad in brick, and capped with a precast sill at the fifth floor. Precast panels line the exterior wall portions from that height upwards. The tower crane on site may be down within a month as there does not remain much work for it now.

The executed design differs somewhat from the architectural rendering in terms of colour of the brick, the precast panels, the spandrels and mullions. Another sign of evolution maybe?
