UrbanToronto's Flickr pool has been receiving quite a number of contributions lately, like this one from Vik Pahwa, who shares this photo overlooking south Bloordale Village from a vantage point on Sterling Road.

For those of us who live and breath condos, it's easy to forget that Toronto is a city of neighbourhoods, many of whose low-lying streetscapes are framed by single family homes with simple gable or hipped roofs. In a city that emphasizes building vertical communities for the future, human scale elements like individual porches and front stoops are becoming increasingly rarer.
