A new high-rise to grace the Toronto skyline is on the way, a luxury living condo development, this one a 50-storey tower at 25 Richmond Street East. Yonge + Rich, a wordplay on its location a block east of Yonge Street, is the latest project from home and condo builder and developer Great Gulf

Yonge + Rich condo

architectsAlliance adds to its growing residential portfolio with a building that promises to ooze lavishness and provide expansive city views. Burdifilek, known for its luxurious retail and hospitality spaces, is collaborating on the interiors and DTAH leads the design of the terraces and landscaping.

Not much is known yet about the details of the amenities and suites, but what is greatly emphasized is the building's prime siting in the heart of TO's downtown core and easy access to the subway, the PATH, the Eaton Centre, universities, and the Financial and Entertainment districts. Walkscore is a system used to calculate the desirability and value of a neighbourhood or property based on its proximity to daily essentials on foot as well as its transit accessibility. With its central location, Yonge + Rich boasts near perfect walk (98) and transit scores. For those fortunate to live here, the enviable walkability factor is an opportunity for greater community living and a way to escape the city's notorious traffic and transit commuting headache.

A marketing angle for Yonge + Rich is the curious play on words, "yonge at heart and rich in possibilities." To stoke your imagination, here's more of a glimpse of the project:
