Just south of the bustling Yonge and Bloor intersection, Charles Street East has seen nearly constant construction activity for close to a decade now. Over the past few years this rapidly densifying stretch spanning from Yonge to Jarvis has seen the addition of hundreds of condominium units from projects like Casa and X Condos. The second proverbial wave of development on Charles started last year, with the demolition of Macy Dubois' 45 Charles Street East, which was cleared to make way for CHAZ Yorkville Condos, a 47-storey condominium by 45 Charles Ltd. Edenshaw Homes is project manager.

Earlier this week, forum member “mikedb” captured these great images of Chaz’s tower crane being assembled, taken from Cresford’s Casa located just to the west.

The Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects-designed building will feature interiors by celebrated Toronto design firm Cecconi Simone. Completion is slated for late 2014.

For those considering the purchase of a condo at CHAZ, the developers have created an app for that! You can shop all the floorplans, tour the building amenities and even check out some videos. The app can be downloaded from www.chazyorkville.com or directly from the iTunes store to your phone or mobile device. Give it a spin!
