A project that we have been keeping a close eye on here at UrbanToronto is Motion on Bay Street, which is slated to rise 29 stories at the southwest corner of Bay and Dundas. Motion on Bay will add 463 much-needed rental units to this intensifying neighbourhood.

Along with the planned rental units, Motion will bring an additional 11,500 square feet of retail space to occupy the ground floor. This Concert Properties building, designed by Young+Wright/ IBI Group Architechts is already starting to make its mark in the neighbourhood towering over the much shorter buildings on that intersection. Given the lack of architectural creativity in much of the area, Motion is a welcome addition. It will be a nice complement to our the design of our city hall.

When completed in early 2013, future residents will have access to a long list of amenities, including a gym and a party room with multiple terraces. More importantly, people will have the ability to rent modern units in proximity to some of Toronto's best attractions and services.
