Taken from a balcony high up the eastern side of Daniels Festival Tower, today's Photo of the Day comes via email, shot by UrbanToronto reader Chris McDonald. Facing east towards the financial core, the image beautifully conveys the varying reflective properties of the the buildings that fill downtown Toronto. With the sun setting behind the camera, and no doubt thanks to the image's high definition, you can make out how various types of glass reflect light in different ways. The golden light is reflected from older buildings, such as the TD Centre and Sun Life Centre, while the near-blindingly bright light is reflected from newer buildings, particularly the Bay Adelaide Centre. The recently completed Shangri-La provides a near perfect reflection of its surroundings, most notably the pinkish clouds that dot the sky above.
