One of the most looked forward to events in early fall is harvest time, a period when a variety of fresh produce arrives in the city's numerous farmers' markets. Often found in neighborhood parks that surround the downtown core, there's only a few that serve residents of the central city, the most notable of which was the market at Nathan Phillips Square that closed for the season in August.

One area that was missing out on the trend was Concord CityPlace, a dense neighbourhood that is beginning to see the dust settle with a few buildings still on the rise. The CityPlace Residents' Association along with Farmers' Markets Ontario and Concord Adex have organized a Farmers' Market to be held in Canoe Landing Park. The market launches today and will run from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. If successful we could see a permanent market established here next year.

If you live in CityPlace or are passing through be sure to stop by the market and snap a few photos. It's great to hear and see that community initiatives are coming to fruition in the oft-derided neighbourhood, and we look forward to a successful 2013 market season!
