The acceleration of this construction cycle has brought with it a corresponding escalation in height. With the apparent ability of the market to absorb an ever greater number of units, and with a sustained stream of capital, developers have lauched increasingly ambitious projects. A byproduct of this process is Canderel Stoneridge's Aura at College Park. Designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects, the project is set to rise 895 feet and will contain an impressive array of retail and amenity spaces to serve the development's 985 units. Although only at a fraction of its final height, the project is already making a substantial impact at the corner of Yonge & Gerrard. Construction on the 78-storey building is expected to be complete by 2013.
