We're starting this week off with a bit of a blast from the past, brought to us by UrbanToronto Forum member 416, who's been on a streak of posting great photos that we just can't get enough of. This aerial photo looks over the downtown core somewhere above Dundas and University. The dominance of the CN Tower and First Canadian Place was unrivaled — The SkyDome (or rather, the Rogers Centre) was still unbuilt, and Scotia Plaza's gleaming façade had yet to add a bit of colour to the downtown skyline. It's worthwhile to note the abrupt end of substantially-sized towers west of University Avenue — expansive parking lots surround Roy Thompson Hall, and what is now CityPlace was still a dank, dirty rail yard.

While it's easy to point out those buildings that are not in this image, it's more difficult to find the ones that no longer exist — for any of you urban aficionados who can remember the 1980s, can you find any buildings in this photo that we've subsequently lost?
