Today's Photo of the Day is a brilliant shot from new Forum member 416, looking at the downtown skyline from the Port Lands. With the flurry of renderings and projection maps we've seen regarding the large scale redevelopment of this area, it's good to have visual records of the site before the change occurs. The juxtaposition of the booming downtown core with the industrial Port Lands — an area that has seen little change in decades — serves to show just how far Toronto's come in terms of development and our city image.

The view of downtown from the east is probably one of the more popular ones as development has historically been focused on north-south arteries. We can expect this to change however as towers begin to rise east of downtown along Queen's Quay as part of WaterfrontTO's redevelopment project, as well as continued westward development.
