Today's photo comes from Forum member Androiduk, and shows the rapid ascent of the long-awaited addition to the MaRs Discovery District. Designed by Bregman + Hamann and developed by Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Phase 2 can be seen having already reached what looks to be the 9th floor in a relatively short period of time.

Construction began in 2007, however stalled during the economic downturn and only resumed last year. The MaRs District is centred around the historic Toronto General Hospital building, and through a public-private partnership helps fund and provide support for a range of research-based practices, including medical, engineering, communication and social innovation start-ups. We can't wait to see the final result — the render below shows what we can expect the south-east corner of College and University to look like by fall of 2013.
