No other building in Toronto has views quite like One King West. Possibly the slenderest building in the world for its 577-foot height, the north and south side bullet noses of One King West are immediatly recognizable amongst the core's rectilinear bank towers. As narrow, midway, as 26 feet at the top of tower, the building's rooms at the ends of the bullet noses are so svelte that you can see through them to the other side if you catch them from the right angle along King Street. We were recently granted a tour of One King West to take a look at the penthouses and recent upgrades around the tower, and we have a number of photos to show you of this unique building. Let's start right off with a view north from the 49th floor, from the living room of the three-storey north penthouse.

That's quite the window on Toronto. Now picture yourself spinning around for a dramatic view of the core to the west and a wide open view to The Beach and beyond to the east. This $3 Million unit is all about drinking in this amazing city. We will show you more of the exterior views soon, but first, let's tour this suite.

If any of this looks familiar, then you were watching the MuchMusic VJ Search, which debuted 6 years ago yesterday. The 10 contestants lived in this penthouse.

Opposite the kitchen; these stairs, looking east above, and up, below!

The two upper floors of the suite are made up of bedrooms, bathrooms, and sitting areas.

The bed and bath above face east.

The master bedroom bath faces west towards the core. Leave the drapes open and enjoy the view, while becoming part of the view for others. At least there's good separation between the towers here!

The southern part of these three floors remains unfinished, waiting for the right owner to outfit the spaces to fit their needs. One floor down, we'll take a look at another unsold suite on the south end of the 48th floor.

Quite gray on this January day, picture this space with the sun out and the lake a brilliant blue, while a comfortable Eames recliner and footstool takes centre stage between finished pillars - and takes full advantage of the killer view!

Looking north throught the suite, the brut concrete awaits a Yabu Pushelberg-Munge Leung-Cecconi Simone-Tomas Pearce-II By IV makeover!

The bay window rise on the east side of the tower creates a generous space inside: the interior is always more expansive than one imagines from the outside!

So, let's take a more direct look at a few of the views.

Muted on a snowy day, clear skies would render this scene, just beside where I asked out to picture the recliner in the south unit, spectacular.

Down below, the One King West Hotel and Residences have been seeing a number of upgrades as of late, including work on the entryway and lobby, and a new business centre overlooking the square at Commerce Court amongst other things. Already downstairs: quite the collections of rooms, especially those near ground level and at the top of the historic 1914 Dominion Bank building which this complex incorporates.

The complex, seen above, shows how the Stanford Downey Architects-designed 51-storey One King West sits above the 12-storey historic bank headquarters on the southwest corner of King and Yonge. Most floors now contain condominium suites and hotel units, while behind the larger windows of the Darling & Pearson-designed building can be found a number of elegant function rooms. First off - the atrium which joins the two buildings together.

At the top of the Dominion Bank building, richly panelled boardrooms have become event spaces.

Just above ground level, the grand banking hall has become a room that often ats as a lounge, but here is set up for quite a party.

We'll end the photo tour today where you would start a visit to One King West: in the impressive entryway off King Street.
