Recently, many were wondering why the excavating at Emerald Park Condominiums in the Yonge/Sheppard area was moving at a snail's pace. Based on the pictures taken in September and October, it seemed that not much digging was taking place to make way for five levels that are to be built below-ground.

Emerald Park was seemingly running behind schedule for the December excavation deadline. Blame it on the permits. Forum member matted recently had a conversation with Michael Brothers, a foreman on the site, who said, "If you count the actual work days on the site, they are much farther along and had there been no permit delays, likely would have been getting to the bottom."

Although all the permits and paperwork will be formalized by the end of January, the digging has been picking up over the past few weeks, as illustrated by the pictures below.

Developed by Bazis International in partnership with Metropia and Plaza, the complex was designed by Roy Varacalli. This is one project we certainly can't wait to see rise.
