Toronto's Rexdale neighbourhood is a predominantly low-rise corner of Toronto, not unlike many of the postwar bungalow suburbs that currently surround our city. The area is composed of single-storey houses amidst sporadic rental towers. Lash Developments is looking to introduce something new to Rexdale, announcing plans for a new residential project called Cloud9 Condominiums. The project will be located just off of Kipling north of the 401, and will climb 12-storeys with a total of 260 units.

While the neighbourhood has had a tumultuous history, the project highlights qualities that make Rexdale appealing - the area is bisected by the extensive Humber River Valley parklands, and is directly located upon major transportation arteries. Close proximity to the airport and GO Transit make it appealing for those on the move.

The affordable project offers units ranging from 515 to 920 square feet at 'suburban' prices, sure to be a hit for those looking to move closer to downtown without paying downtown prices. Cloud9 is - by some - being seen as a precursor to future development within Rexdale and Etobicoke, as builders begin looking further north for inexpensive land and new markets to tap into. The building is designed by E.I. Richmond Architects, with interiors by Tanner Hill Associates. We've created a dataBase listing for Cloud9 below - head on over to the associated project thread here and let us know what you think of the development.
