Heritage preservation begins in earnest at Five St. Joseph condos as seen in this picture by UrbanToronto forum member androiduk. Bracing is starting to go up along St Joseph street to protect this wall during construction of the 45 storey condominium. This will be the largest facade retention to ever take place in Toronto.
The preservation work is being overseen by ERA Architects with Hariri Pontarini Architects handling the new design. Here's what to expect upon completion. The area to the bottom right of the render is the area depicted above.
Graywood Developments and MOD Developments are developing this project. Good to see them take historical preservation seriously.
