UrbanToronto has paid a lot of attention to both the recladding of First Canadian Place and the development of the Trump International Hotel and Tower, and for good reason of each, but we have all but ignored the makeover currently underway at the city's possible best-loved office complex; the Toronto Dominion or TD Centre. UrbanToronto member Drum118 however recently posted a photo that brings all three into view and puts the TD Centre front-and-centre.

What is plain as day suddenly is that a new coat of paint shows how gray our black towers had become. Paired with the sparkling white of the refreshed First Canadian Place Tower, we are going to have an incredibly snappy looking financial core in short order. Meanwhile, in behind, Trump's new dome grows, begging the question as to its final look and how it will fit in or stand out.

Finally, what you don't see in the photo above is that the TD Centre is not just getting a paint job; it is also replacing all of its windows with more energy efficient ones, and is resealing the plaza against water infiltration. The new windows will be tinted bronze just like the old ones, and all the glass and all of the metal frames from the originals will be recycled. Well done Cadillac Fairview, and thanks Drum for a great photo!
