There's quite a bit of activity taking place these days at Chaz On Charles condos. The most obvious is the hoarding that has started to go up around the existing building at 45 Charles Street East. This obviously means demolition is slated to start soon.

The second change is the height of the project. The developers, 45 Charles Ltd and Edenshaw Homes, have applied for a height increase taking the current 39 storeys up 8 storeys to 47 storeys. This increased intensification is certainly welcome in a neighbourhood such as this. Here's a look at the 39 storey version.

Finally, the developers have decided to achieve a LEED silver certification with the project. This would make the Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects designed condo one of the "greenest" buildings in the city. Good on them!
