In the wake of the 335 Yonge Street debacle there's good news to report on the heritage building front. It has come to our attention that renovation work has begun on the old warehouse at 500 Lakeshore Blvd West. which is located at the northeast corner of Bathurst and Lakeshore. The building, owned by the Weston family, was originally a Loblaws warehouse (the Westons also own Loblaws). The new use? A Loblaws grocery store.

Good to see this building come back to life and good on Loblaws for moving into this heritage building. Loblaws does seem to have some interest in historical buildings. They will also be opening a store in the soon to be restored Maple Leaf Gardens. More here.
