Market Wharf by Context Development is changing the face of St. Lawrence. The eight-storey podium of the architectsAlliance-designed building is now topped out, its two uppermost floors angled jauntily over Jarvis St. The podium’s contextual massing and materials and syncopated window openings have received universal praise on Urban Toronto, extending aA’s ten year-plus architectural winning streak into the new decade. We look forward to the 32-storey tower portion of Market Wharf, currently at grade, reaching skyward in 2011, with its signature balcony railings adding some much-needed curves to Toronto’s overwhelmingly orthogonal skyline.
