Over the last few weeks a number of UrbanToronto members have headed down to The Esplanade and Market Street and aimed their cameras at Market Wharf, the new St. Lawrence Market area condominium project designed by architectsAlliance for Context Development. The most recent photos are the first to reveal on UrbanToronto what those driving past the site on Jarvis Street have known for the past few weeks: residences on the top two floors of Market Wharf's podium overhang the building at the south end of the property.

UrbanToronto member CML captured this shot from across Jarvis Street, southeast of the podium. While the tower is under construction now as well, at the left of the image one can see that it has not yet risen above the level of the hoarding.

This shot of CML's shows the north end of the podium with most of the condo units' glazing now installed in the brick facade.

UrbanToronto member Davin caught this image showing the facade in detail.

A week ago UrbanToronto owner Edward Skira took this image showing the project in context with the St. Lawrence Market in the left foreground, and surrounding neighbourhood, including nearby Toronto Harbour to the south.

When complete, Market Wharf will rise as high as 32-storeys at the south end, sporting balconies designed in an alternating wave pattern.
