The Florian is the latest project from Diamante Development, a company whose past history includes Domus, One City Hall and One Balmoral. Designed by Hariri Pontarini in association with Young + Wright, it is set to rise 21 storeys where Bay Street merges into Davenport Road. Decidedly middle of the pack when it comes to architecture we still think it is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood. The car dealership it replaces is long forgotten.

One final thing to note. All of the buildings to the east of The Florian shown on the site plan are slated to go. They will be replaced by a 28 storey condo designed by Wallman Architects and developed by Lifetime Urban Development Group. More details on that project can be found here.
