FIVE Condos' sales office opened to the public this past weekend, and the project is now two thirds sold. FIVE is the first condominium by Five St. Joseph Developments Ltd. - a joint venture between Graywood Developments Ltd. and the newly formed MOD Developments Inc. MOD is led by industry veteran Gary Switzer, the former head of high-rise development at Great Gulf Homes who spearheaded several award-winning landmark condominiums in the city, and Graywood is the renowned developer of The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto.

“We are pleased with how enthusiastically the home-buying public has received FIVE, and we are delighted with its immediate success,” said Graywood’s Chief Operating Officer, Stephen Price. “Along with MOD, we are proud that FIVE is leading the rejuvenation of the Yonge Street area south of Bloor by offering something new while honoring the past.” FIVE will rise at the southwest corner of Yonge and St. Joseph Streets in central Toronto. Designed by David Pontarini of Hariri Pontarini Architects, FIVE will consist of a 45 storey tower marked by undulating balconies atop a brick podium that will save the facades and much of the interior of the heritage shops and warehouse currently on the site. ERA Architects will lead the restoration of those buildings. The top of the podium will include a roof garden designed by Janet Rosenberg and Associates. Interiors by Cecconi Simone Inc. encompass amenities that speak to the cutting edge sophistication of the urban professionals and entrepreneurs buying here. Large numbers attended the public opening:

The scale model shows the impressive design of FIVE – a sensitive blend of the old and new that is certain to become a landmark:
